Happy New Year, everyone!  I can’t believe it is time again to say goodbye to one year and welcome in another.  My NYE was pretty low-key; work, then hanging out with The Husband at home and watching a Marx Brothers movie marathon, and casting on the sweater for the Knit Night KAL.

I know that many people make resolutions, and I suppose I do as well.  I love the idea of a fresh start; a blank page, or rather a new chapter, in which I make most of the choices.  So, what do I want to do this year?

  • Continue on with my 101 Things In 1001 Days list.  I realize now that some of them are very general, but there are some specific things in which I’d like to accomplish.
  • Lose 20 pounds by July.  Yes, I know.  There is that old resolution … lose weight.  I’ve already cut soda almost completely (welcome back, coffee!) and have lost 2 pounds.  My big problem is getting the motivation to get outside and move around.  I’d much rather be sitting in my warm house, on the couch, knitting.  But my nurse at work, Jan, and I are making this a joint goal so maybe that will help.
  • Do more with fiber!  I’ve been slacking on my spinning, and I need to get back into the swing of things.  I need to set aside one day a week to spin, even if it is just for an hour.

So those are the big ones.  Nothing too outstanding, and nothing too crazy to accomplish.

So, how was your New Year’s Eve?  Any big plans for 2011?

    I managed to lose 7+ lbs. in December, but you know I’m not much on resolutions. I do like the idea of a fresh start though, and I sure hope 2011 is kinder and gentler than 2010 was.

    Hey, I’ve been swimming at the rec center at school, and I lost a pants size in about two weeks! You should start going to the indoor pool! I know it’s a pain to get out there, but you will really see results if you go a couple times a week! I’m working on losing weight too, I can be another motivation buddy if you want!

      I didn’t get to tell ya Happy New Year yet. So, HAPPY NEW YEAR Amy! :) My NYE was relaxing, went to a house party with small group, made new friends. As for my resolutions, well I just wrote about it and have been working on some lists that I’m excited to get out and share. Here’s to us and to another fabulous fun year! It’s been great getting to know you. :)
